Summary

Alberto Meda's office chair with a flexible frame and a stretched textile seat and back.

Best for

  • People who like a chair that gives as they move rather than holding them still.
  • Buyers who want few controls; the range of movement follows body weight.
  • Rooms where the chair is seen; Vitra offers ten cover variants.

Good to check first

  • The arms are fixed, so check their height against your desk.
  • Seat depth is a single 435 mm (17¼"); there is no depth slider.
  • Vitra's US online shop warranty is 5 years; the 10-year warranty applies outside the US and Canada.

The trade-off

A light, flexing design with few settings, so fit depends on the fixed dimensions.

What Vitra highlights

  • Sling seat and back

A continuous textile panel is stretched between two side uprights. The uprights flex as you move.

  • Aluminium braces and springs

Aluminium braces pass movement to spiral springs under the seat. Vitra says the range of motion depends on body weight.

  • Synchronised movement

Seat and back move together, with adjustable backrest resistance and a lock in the upright position.

  • Covers

The back is lightly padded and covered in a knit or woven fabric. Vitra offers ten cover variants.

As described by Vitra on its official pages; not a Chairpedia assessment.
