How we make the information
Specifications from official sources
Dimensions, ranges and weights come from the manufacturer's own product pages and spec sheets, linked to the source.
Prices with a source and a date
The brand's own list or starting price, with the date we checked it (local currency for chairs sold only outside the US). No confirmed price means we say so, not guess.
User Insights by a stated counting rule
User reviews and videos summarized in our own words. A review counts once per person or thread, only for the exact model and with a linked or hand-checked source; videos are counted separately and blogs capped at a quarter. Data used only to choose topics is never quoted or counted. Health effects are never presented as facts, and each summary is dated.
Store listings from official sources
A store is listed only when a brand's official locator or the store's own website confirms it. Each listing shows its source and check date, and every store is ordered by the same rules.
Used listings
From eBay's official API and from people who post on Chairpedia. Private sellers' prices appear only as anonymous price ranges.
AI as a helper, not a source
AI helps summarize sources and answer chA.I.r questions; specifications, prices and counts come from the sources above.
Editorial independence
Chairpedia is editorially independent. No brand or store pays to be listed or ranked on Chairpedia. We may earn a commission when you buy through some links, which does not affect what we include or how we describe it. Affiliate links include Amazon Associates; buying through them costs you nothing extra. As an Amazon Associate, Chairpedia earns from qualifying purchases.
Who runs Chairpedia
Chairpedia is run by Leo, who has spent about 25 years in the office chair business and has helped roughly 100,000 people choose a chair in person. That work means sitting in, adjusting and comparing hundreds of models side by side — the kind of hands-on knowledge that rarely makes it into spec sheets.
Because Leo works in the industry, some stores on our Showroom Map may have a business relationship with the operator. Every store is listed and ordered by the same rules, and we disclose this so you can judge our content with that in mind.
Chairpedia was formerly known as Furniblog.
