Editorial Policy

This page explains how Chairpedia's pages are put together: where specifications and prices come from, how owner reviews are counted and summarized, and how commercial ties are disclosed, so you can judge what you are reading.

Who writes Chairpedia

Articles, guides and comparisons are written by Leo and carry his byline, which links to the About page. AI tools may help with drafting and with summarizing sources; Leo is responsible for what is published.

Prices

We list official prices with their source and the date we checked them. When a range is shown, it covers the configurations the source lists. For chairs sold only outside the US, we show the official local-currency price first, followed by a US-dollar estimate converted at a fixed, dated exchange rate. Where no reliable price is published, we note that instead of estimating one. Prices change, so check the seller before you buy.

User reviews

We collect and condense published reviews from owners around the world so you don’t have to read hundreds of them. Each summary links back to its original source, and the opinions in it belong to the original author. A summary without a usable original link is labeled as such and is not presented as a verified owner review.

Specifications

Measurements, adjustments, weight capacity and warranty come from each brand’s own specifications, kept in a record with the source and the date we checked it. When a brand does not publish a figure, we say it is not published rather than fill the gap.

User review counts and User Insights

The number of owner reviews shown for a chair follows one published counting rule, and the same number appears on every page. Owner Insights sum up recurring themes from those reviews and from wider online owner discussions, written in our own words with the date they were updated. They describe what owners report; they are not our own test results and do not make health claims.

Best-list scores

We do not give chairs comfort, ergonomics or design ratings. Some Best lists rank chairs by a points score computed only from the brand’s own specifications: how fully the main measurements are published, listed adjustments, weight capacity and warranty length. The rule is shown on each of those lists. Affiliate links, commissions and reviews play no part in it, and it is not a comfort or hands-on test result.

Updates

We retain publication dates and only describe an article as updated when its content has been revised. Customer experience records may describe earlier chair versions. We do not display dates on offline customer experience records because their entry dates do not establish when the customer visited or tested the chair. Changing our brand or domain does not make an older review new.

Corrections

If we make an error, we correct it promptly and transparently. If you spot an error in our content, please contact us.

Disclosure

Leo works in the office furniture industry. Chairpedia may earn a commission when you buy through some links, at no extra cost to you. Neither affects what we write: if a chair has a flaw, we will tell you. Some showrooms listed in Find a Showroom may have a business relationship with Leo; every store is listed, sorted and shown by the same rules. See our affiliate disclosure.
