This Privacy Policy describes how Chairpedia collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our website.
Information We Collect
- Pages you visit. Our own visit log stores the page address, the referring page, your country and a random visitor ID kept in a first-party cookie for up to one year. It does not store your name or email.
- Buy-button clicks. When you click a store or Amazon link we record the product, the store, your country and the page, to see which links people use.
- Chair Finder and chA.I.r. Answers you give the Chair Finder are used to rank chairs. If you create a shareable report, it is stored for 30 days and then deleted; you can delete it earlier with the link you receive. Questions typed into chA.I.r are sent to Anthropic to generate the answer; we keep only a count of questions, not their text.
- Store visit reviews. If you submit a review through the store visit form, we store what you enter (for example rating, comments, body size band, nickname, an optional photo and an optional email address) and review it before publishing. The email address is never published and is used only if we need to contact you about your review.
- Messages you send us by email.
How We Use Information
To run and improve the site, measure which pages and links are useful, prevent abuse (for example rate limits based on a one-way hash of your IP address), answer messages and operate the features you use. We do not sell personal information.
Cookies and Analytics
- Our visitor ID cookie (first-party, up to one year), described above.
- Google Analytics 4 measures visits and traffic sources with Google cookies.
- Microsoft Clarity records anonymised usage such as clicks, scrolling and session replays to help us fix layout problems.
- Affiliate partners. When you follow an affiliate link (for example Amazon), the partner may set its own cookies on its site to credit the referral.
- We do not currently show third-party advertising.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site still works without them.
Third-Party Services
The site is hosted on Vercel and stores data with Supabase. AI features use Anthropic. Emails for used listings are sent through Resend. Analytics are provided by Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. These providers process data only to provide their services to us.
Used Listings on the Showroom Map
- What we collect when you post: your email address (required, never shown on the site); the model, price, currency, condition, city and country you enter (postal code optional, never a street address); your photos, with location data (EXIF/GPS) removed before storage; and a one-way hash of your IP address for abuse prevention.
- When you comment: a nickname, your comment and a one-way hash of your IP address. No email address is needed to comment.
- Listing information is kept until you delete the listing. Sold and closed listings may stay public.
- Your email address is kept while you have a listing and is used only to confirm the listing, send your manage link and notify you of comments. It is deleted together with the listing when you delete it or ask us to.
- Report and block records (including IP hashes) are kept for 1 year.
- Service providers: emails are sent through Resend, data is stored with Supabase, and the site runs on Vercel. They process data only to provide these services.
- Deletion requests or a lost manage link: email hello@chairpedia.com; we verify ownership through the email address on the listing.
