Summary

Iskos-Berlin's shell chair for Muuto, made from recycled plastic mixed with wood fibres.

Best for

  • Dining and meeting tables that need a compact shell chair.
  • Choosing a base: tube, A-base or sled.
  • Buyers who care about materials; the shell uses 100% recycled plastic.

Good to check first

  • Seat height is 46 cm (18.1 in); check it against your table.
  • Bare shells can vary slightly in colour, because of the wood fibres.
  • Ask your retailer about price and return terms.

The trade-off

A light, recycled-material shell chair, with few published durability facts.

Value check

Muuto sells it through retailers and has no own store; check a retailer for the price.

What Muuto highlights

  • Wood-fibre composite shell

The shell mixes 100% recycled plastic with up to 25% wood fibres. Muuto says the fibres give a matte finish with a soft touch.

  • Small footprint

Muuto describes rounded, embracing curves that take up little space in a room.

  • Upholstery and bases

The shell comes bare or upholstered in textile, imitation leather or leather. The tube base is powder-coated or chromed steel.

As described by Muuto on its official pages; not a Chairpedia assessment.
