Summary

Peter Opsvik's 1984 saddle-seat chair, made for switching between sitting, perching and standing desks.

Best for

  • Sit-stand desks; a sit-to-stand cylinder raises the seat to 26".
  • People who sit sideways, backwards or forwards and like to keep moving.
  • Users up to 300 lb, HÅG's stated rating.

Good to check first

  • Pick the cylinder for your desk: standard (16.5"–21.5"), sit-to-stand (19"–26") or stool (22.5"–32").
  • HÅG warrants Capisco to 300 lb.
  • The headrest is a separate model (8107) at a higher price.

The trade-off

A distinctive saddle seat that suits many positions, at a premium dealer list price.

What HÅG highlights

  • Saddle seat

The seat is shaped like a saddle and works in low and high positions. HÅG says the design takes its cue from horseback riders and invites sitting forwards, backwards or sideways.

  • HÅG in Balance tilt

A balanced, flowing tilt follows your movement, with adjustable tension and a two-position lock.

  • Three cylinder heights

Standard, sit-to-stand and stool cylinders let the same chair serve a regular desk or a standing desk.

  • Recycled content

HÅG says the chair contains 50% recycled material and is 85% recyclable.

As described by HÅG on its official pages; not a Chairpedia assessment.
