What the design award does and does not establish

KOKUYO's June 2026 announcement distinguishes two awards: Red Dot in Office Furniture and Office Chairs, and Best of the Best in Innovative Design. The reported 96/100 score belongs to the Innovative Design assessment; it is not a Furniblog comfort rating. Read the award announcement.

A design award does not tell you whether the seat fits your legs, whether you like the movement or whether a seller can support the chair in your country.

What to compare during a demonstration

Use your normal working tasks as the comparison: typing with elbows supported, reaching for a mouse and leaning back between tasks. Note whether you can stay close to your desk without raising your shoulders. Compare the same tasks in your current chair rather than relying on a showroom's first impression.

Ask which controls you may adjust and which movements are built into the mechanism. A comfortable demonstration is useful evidence for your own decision, not a guarantee of long-term comfort.

Backrest design and desk clearance

KOKUYO describes a hammock-style mesh back without the usual rigid side frames. That is a construction description, not proof that every body shape will find it comfortable. Official product description.

Check the chair at your working height and in its reclined position. A chair that fits beneath a desk while upright can still require additional room behind it when moving.

How triple gliding works

The manufacturer's triple-gliding description refers to movement beneath the seat, at the backrest and at the armrests. KOKUYO combines this with its shaped mesh back under the 3D Ultra Auto-Fit name. Mechanism explanation.

We have not measured pressure distribution or verified that this mechanism improves concentration. Treat the brand's performance language as manufacturer claims, not comparative test results.

Controls: armrests, gliding and seat depth

The brochure describes arm height adjustment and inward pivot, with movement at the arm pad. It lists a 70 mm seat-height adjustment and a two-stage seat-gliding control. It describes a flexible front seat edge rather than a seat-depth slider. Official brochure, Function section.

Do not interpret the gliding control as a conventional recline lock without checking the operating instructions. If you specifically require a sliding seat or a particular arm adjustment, have the seller demonstrate it on the exact model.

Can a headrest be added later?

The official brochure lists configurations with and without a headrest and says the headrest cannot be retrofitted. It lists 70 mm of headrest adjustment on the equipped version. Headrest and configuration documentation.

Do not buy the headrest-free chair assuming an accessory will convert it later. Ask the seller to put the selected configuration on the order confirmation.

Comfort: evidence and limits

Furniblog has not conducted a hands-on sitting test of this chair. We do not have our own pressure measurements, long-session comfort scores or durability results. This guide distinguishes documented specifications from questions that need a personal trial or seller confirmation.

When to shortlist ingCloud, and when to wait

Shortlist ingCloud if its movement system is a feature you specifically want to try and you can verify fit, delivery and support. Wait before ordering if your decision depends on an unconfirmed adjustment, an assumed headrest retrofit or an unclear return route.

We have not established a universal height or body-weight range for comfortable use. Ask for the exact model's limits rather than treating an estimated user range as a tested recommendation.

Compare the purchase, not just the chair name

Compare configurations using the same questions: required adjustments, desk clearance, delivered cost, trial or return conditions, and who handles service. We have not performed a head-to-head comfort test and do not rank ingCloud above other chairs on that basis.

The English product page lists width 720 mm, depth 820-1100 mm, height 1230-1300 mm and seat height 425-495 mm. Use the configuration-specific drawing rather than applying those overall dimensions to every version. Published dimensions.

Measure desk clearance and the space available behind the chair. Before paying, request the exact drawing and check whether your preferred working height is possible with your feet supported.

GREENGUARD documentation: scope and dates

KOKUYO publishes a GREENGUARD certificate naming ingCloud, certificate 432862-410, issued June 4, 2026 with a stated expiration of February 4, 2027. It concerns chemical emissions under UL 2818. Read the certificate and its limitations.

This document is not a comfort score or a structural durability test. Its stated dates do not rule out later modification or withdrawal; the certificate directs readers to UL's database for authentication. We have not independently authenticated its current status there.

Warranty and service questions for overseas buyers
