Summary

A German task chair whose seat tilts and swivels in three dimensions to follow side-to-side movement.

Best for

  • People who shift their hips side to side; the seat moves in three dimensions (Trimension).
  • Users between 45 and 120 kg, the range the counter-pressure setting covers.
  • Those who want 3D arms with height, depth and swivel adjustment.

Good to check first

  • Wilkhahn sets the counter pressure for 45–120 kg (about 99–265 lb), so check it if you are above that.
  • The seat is built to move in three dimensions; try it if you prefer a fixed, stable seat.

The trade-off

Unusually free seat movement, within a narrower stated weight range than many US task chairs.

Value check

Wilkhahn does not publish a US list price on its product page; check dealers.

What Wilkhahn highlights

  • Trimension

Two swing plates under the seat move separately, a bit like two thighs. Wilkhahn says this patented mechanism allows sideways, rotating and forward-back movement.

  • Weight-range setting

The counter pressure adjusts in any direction with up to 4.5 turns. Wilkhahn says it covers people from 45 to 120 kg.

  • Adjustable backrest

The elastic-framed back adjusts 60 mm in height across six locking positions. A 16 cm headrest is available as an option.

  • 3D armrests

The arms adjust 100 mm in height in eight steps, 40 mm in depth, and swivel 30° in or out.

As described by Wilkhahn on its official pages; not a Chairpedia assessment.
