- 12-year warranty
Summary
A Herman Miller mesh chair that sets its own recline tension, with no tilt controls to learn.
Best for
- People who do not want to set recline tension; Auto-Harmonic Tilt reacts to body weight.
- Those who want neck and upper-back height; this is the tallest of three backs.
- Shorter sitters; the store lists a seat height from 14⅞".
- Buyers who want a 12-year warranty and a chair that arrives assembled.
Good to check first
- Recline tension sets itself to your weight, so there is no tension knob to adjust.
- The seat depth is fixed at 15½" (store listing); check it against your thigh length.
The trade-off
Simple, self-adjusting recline, with fewer manual settings than Aeron or Embody.

Auto-Harmonic Tilt
The tilt responds to your body weight automatically. Herman Miller says there are no manual tension adjustments to make.
Intercept suspension
The seat and back use a breathable elastomeric suspension. Herman Miller says it conforms to give support.
Flexible frame
The frame is sturdy but flexes with your movement. Herman Miller pairs it with the suspension so the chair moves as you shift.
Three back heights
Cosm comes in low, mid and high back versions. The high back adds support up to the head and neck.
Arm choices
Arms come as Leaf Arms, height-adjustable arms or fixed arms, or the chair can have no arms.
As described by Herman Miller on its official pages; not a Chairpedia assessment.
